FREE Mental Health Cafes

Adult/Seniors / Enrichment -
Summer 25

Join us for conversation, snacks, and support in a welcoming space! Each session includes a 30-minute topic discussion followed by a 40-minute open conversation. Facilitated by Gale Reitan, MA in Counseling, we provide resources, encouragement, and a judgment-free environment. Free to attend - please register to help us plan for food!

May 13th: Everything is flowering and blooming. As one of the five senses, smell is keenly tied to pain relief, peace, and moods. Also, we spend some moments on allergies from food to pollen that affect mental health

June 10th: Nature is a natural healer for all of us and it is free. We’ll meet in the classroom, have a chat and then head out for a walk. Please wear shoes that you can walk in. If it is raining, bring an umbrella.

July 8th: : Boom Bang and Independence Day can all be triggers if you are dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Come and learn more about this reality.

August 12: Dog Days of Summer – does the heat and humidity have anything to do with mental health? We’ll be learning what barometric pressures, temperatures, and humidity have to do with our mental health.

September 9: Beginnings Are Hard – come and share your helpful hints and learn from others about how to handle when your schedule changes. Change is not easy for anyone and a mental health challenge adds another level.
