Experience what it is like to train and compete as a cross country athlete! Participants will run over grass, dirt, pavement, and sometimes through the woods while learning from experienced coaches.The program focuses on endurance, proper running technique, strength training, sportsmanship, and developing a love for cross country. Rockford Blaze Youth Cross Country is a great way to start the school year with classmates, meet new friends, and experience being part of a cross country team. As part of the Rockford Community Education program, athletes will have the opportunity to participate in: •5th/6th Grade Home Cross Country Meet at Rockford High School •End-of-Season One-Mile Time Trial under the lights at the RHS Stadium Track, tentatively scheduled for Monday, October 12 •Optional - Rocket Run Invitational Youth Community Race on September 10 at Shamrock

Registration is limited to 15 participants. Program race fees and uniform tops are provided. Registration and payment must be completed through Rockford Community Education, not High School Activities. This program does not qualify for lettering and is not an MSHSL-organized activity.
